The Great Southern Illinois Pumpkin Smash

The Pumpkin Smash is a communities' effort to divert pumpkins from landfills by providing locations for residents to drop-off jack-o-lanterns to be composted. It is typically held each year the Saturday after Halloween. Don’t Trash it, Smash it!

Extra Information: We will bring awareness to composting and waste diversion efforts, along with the fact that pumpkins are a rich food source! We'll be roasting pumpkin seeds to hand out! The event will have activities for all ages, along with a photo booth. There will be many smash stations like the traditional rage rooms, atlatls, rubber mallet, t-ball, trebuchet, sling shots, and much more! There will be some vendors too.
