Registration: 1pm – 1:45pm, Event: 2pm
The Great Carbondale Pumpkin Race is a lively and family-friendly annual event where creativity, competition, and community spirit come together. Participants design and race their own "pumpkin racers," which are pumpkins mounted on wheels. Held in downtown Carbondale under the Mill Street underpass, this fun-filled event brings together people of all ages to celebrate the fall season with exciting races, food vendor, and a costume parade. This year’s race beneficiaries are the Science Center and Read SI.
Extra Information: This event is free to race with a $10 entry free option for those that want to participate in the Grand Prix portion of the race. There is a $100 grand prize for the winner of the races and $250 grand prize for the winner of the Grand Prix.
Registration is not required but pre-registrants (by Oct. 23) qualify for a warm-up run to receive 2 test runs down the track prior to race starting time.
